Holiday Memories

Filed under: Raising Leaders, Christmas — Kerry @ 9:34 am

Preserve photographic memories of last Thursday’s get-together by creating & sharing an album on flickr.com.  WOW!  I just found out about flickr.com and it’s amazing place to share photos.

Another route is using facebook.  All my kids have a facebook account and they can upload pics for everyone to enjoy.

Or make a photo calendar for 2008 now and you’ll keep on enjoying 2007.

Work out

Filed under: Raising Leaders, Christmas — Kerry @ 9:32 am

Work off last week’s binge by starting a new exercise regimen.

Need inspiration?

Consider this:  The average American consumes more than 2000 calories during Thanksgiving dinner alone.  Try a 30 minute walk or Nordic walking.  It’s like cross-country skiing on the ground.  Sounds like fun to me!

Good News for You

Filed under: Raising Leaders, Christmas — Kerry @ 7:30 am

Hi!

The Christmas & Advent Celebrations for the Holidays Package is
officially launched!  YEA!!!

I finally had time to catch my breath today because yesterday was a nightmare.  More on that in a sec.

Since you may be trying to buy the package on the Advent
Countdown sign up page, I want to give you the direct link to the
letter describing the entire package:
Advent, Christmas, Epiphany Celebration Activities

————————————
I have some good news & bad news…
————————————

First the BAD NEWS…
Yesterday was a technical nightmare.  Some of you may have experienced some of our problems of downloads not working, price being wrong in the shopping cart or getting emails hours after we launched.  I sincerely apologize.

I tested all of those things before Wednesday, but we still had some technical difficulties. Ahhh…the wonders of the internet :-)

I think we have most of them solved.  I am still working with our payment processor to be sure the price stays correct.

Which leads me to the GOOD NEWS…
Since we had so many problems yesterday, I’m extending the sale price of $27 over the weekend.  That means, you can invest in the Christmas & Advent Celebration Package at a reduced price until Monday, December 3rd.  Tell all your friends so they can get it too.

EVEN BETTER NEWS…
Since many of you did buy in a timely manner, I want to give you something extra.  So this is what I’m doing.

Anyone who invests in the Christmas & Advent Package before midnight tonight (Thursday, November 29) will receive a House Keeping bonus bundle (ebooks & audio) worth another $27.  I’m putting it together right now and will email it to those who buy BEFORE MIDNIGHT TONIGHT-Thursday, Nov 29th.

Thanks for being patient with us!

AND…watch your email for a few more Christmas surprises from me next week!

Here’s the link one more time:

Blessings,
Kerry

ps.  Please tell your friends how they can get their own free Advent Countdown by signing up here:

pps.  Don’t forget to grab your copy of HouseKeeping Bundle before tonight.  It’s worth the price of the package alone!

Integrate Christmas into Homeschool

Filed under: Raising Leaders, Christmas, Entrepreneurs, Homeschooling, Holiday — Kerry @ 5:57 pm

Thanks for all the kind Thanksgiving greetings over the weekend.  The turkey I told you about was delicious…and so was everything else!

This year you have 4 weeks between Thanksgiving & Christmas which means you have some extra time :-)   Befor that time disappears from us, I wanted to share with you!

First of all, my son just finished making 96 marshmallow guns to sell on our website.  Since you are on my list, I just had to tell you about them.  Even if you don’t buy one, you can use this story as a lesson in your homescshool…I promise!

He is making some extra Christmas money and offering a bulk discount if you decide to buy them for all your children, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, or your hubby.  I had a friend that bought one for each of her sons, her husband and her brother-in-law.  I bet they had a huge marshmallow fight on Christmas day.

Here’s the link to read & see the guns:
>>> Marshmallow Gun

If you want to see them in action, check out Hunter’s youtube video right here:
Hunter’s Mighty Marshmallow Gun

BTW, these guns made a great homeschool project.  Here’s why:

1.  Hunter wrote an article describing how to build & shoot a marshmallow gun.  If you want to see it, go to google.  Cut & paste:  how to build & shoot a marshmallow gun

You will find Hunter’s article on links 1, 2, 4, 6, 7, 9, 10.  In other words, you click 7 of the links on google and land on his article.  That means he’s a published author and he had to learn how to get his articles on the first page of google.

Homeschooling Tip:
  This is Writing

2.  Hunter had to buy the materials and calculate the price so he wouldn’t lose money on the transaction.

Homeschooling Tip:  This is Math!

3.  Hunter had to build these guns and paint them.  He is able to do all of it by himself (except the chop saw) because his Dad taught him how to do it 2 years ago.

Homeschooling Tip:  Life Skills in Action!

4.  Hunter had to change edit his marshmallow gun webpage to reflect the bulk prices.  He is still learning how to do his own pages.

Homeschooling Tip:  This is Computer Education - More Life Skills in Action!

5.  Hunter painted his guns while Steve & I were away for a weekend conference.  He had to show responsibility and initiative to get these done.  I was glad he painted them, but a little surprised when I saw them still sitting on their tarp on our driveway.  I quickly learned the first set sat on our driveway for a couple of days until he started the second batch.

I can’t complain too much because 2 years ago, we had to beg him to finish painting them.  Now he at least gets the job completed, even if he takes a couple of days to clean up.

Homeschooling Tip:  This is Character Development!

I hope Hunter’s marshmallow gun experience has given you some ideas with your own children and your homeschool.  Take a minute and share those ideas by posting a comment right here!

And DON’T FORGET to at least take a look at Hunter’s gun.

In Just a Few Days…

Filed under: Christmas, Kerry Beck, Holiday — Kerry @ 8:38 am

I hope you had a relaxing and refreshing Thanksgiving. We had a fantastic time at some friends’ home. You couldn’t ask for more…food, football and fellowship! :-)

Have you picked up your copy of my Special Report, “Politically Incorrect and Over The Top Christmas Stories”? If you haven’t, grab yourself a copy right here.

>>>> http://www.ChristmasCelebrationIdeas.com

I’m sure you will be shocked at what is happening to our celebration of Christ’s birthday. I sure was shocked!

In case you haven’t heard, I’ll have my Christmas & Advent Celebration Package ready for you next week, probably Wednesday or Thursday, November 28 or 29th. I am so excited about getting it to my members.

Since I announced my package last week, many of you have asked questions that I want to address. So, here are your answers….

—————————
QUESTION: Can you give us any more details about your book
regarding the Star of Bethlehem?

SHORT ANSWER: Star of Bethlehem gives you Bible passages to read
as a family and discuss. As you work through the study, you will
discover more about astronomy and what the Star of Bethlehem
truly is.

————————–
QUESTION: How much will a package with 10 or 11 books cost?

SHORT ANSWER: I can guarantee the price will be less than half
the normal retail cost of that many books. In fact, I’m thinking more in the one-fourth or one-third range.

—————————
CONCERN: The Advent Countdown is a great idea, but it seems to
always have a product connected to it.

SHORT ANSWER: The Advent Countdown does give many free ideas, but
selling books is the way we pay our bills and put food on the
table. So, yes, there is a product related to the Advent
Countdown because this is the way God provides for our family.
—————————-

Of course, the “short answers” above are just that - short
answers. I will be filling you in on all of these
questions/concerns throughout the week.
Until the entire package is ready for you next week, I hope you will tell your family and friends how they can get their own copy of my Advent Countdown and my Special Report.

Here’s the link for your friends to sign up for the Free Advent Countdown.
