Free Surprises for You
August 24, 2007 10:31 am Raising LeadersI just posted pictures of our trip to Victoria last weekend. They are on my blog.
Many of you want to know the price of my Leadership Education package that will be available on Tuesday, August 28 (12noon EST). I told you I would let you know about the price for our Raising Leaders, Not Followers package today. I’m sorry it took awhile to send this email, but my blog pictures took longer than I anticipated because I’m pretty much of a technical dummy with a digital camera
Besides the concern about price, I also had some moms concerned about buying e-books. This is a great question I addressed in my blog. If you are wondering why I am selling an e-book package instead of printed books, read my August 23rd post below:
While you are here on my blog, enter to win a Leadership Package by adding a comment to one of my posts.

It sounds to me as though you are offering a great value for the money!
And hey, stop showing those pictures of you having fun while the rest of us are slaving away at the keyboard! Looks like you had a great time!

Bob,
Thanks for the comment.
Actually, I could sit all day long and enjoy my time at the keyboard, but there are a few drawbacks…less time with my kiddos before they leave my home and a very sore back. God knew what I needed when he made my lower back hurt after sitting for too long. It forces me to get up and do something else like scrapbooking with my daughter yesterday afternoon.
AND…I sure don’t want to miss these years with my kids, whether it’s fun last weekend or laughing together at the dinner table.
Well, off to a back-to-school lunch with my daughter. I continue the tradition my Mom started over 40 years ago…thanks Mom!

Hi Kerry,
I look forward to the release of your Raising Leaders e-book. I feel that the time is ripe for more fathers to take their God-designed roles seriously, and build the kingdom starting at home. My wife and I are side by side on this issue, and the Lord has blessed us in so many ways in recent years, despite trials and hardships. He is so good!
Perhaps some dads (even me!) will use what you have put together and come up with their own products to encourage and enthuse other fathers and families to be godly leaders in a culture desperately in need of light and truth.
I thank the Lord for you, your husband, and your family, and the work and encouragement you have been to my family.
Whether I win or not, I’ll be waiting for the release Tuesday!
Paul

I posted the night of the webinar, but it didn’t go through. Anyway, I thought the best part was the inclusion of scripture and why it is ever so important to include God in our homeschooling lives. He is and should be the center as we follow His word and train our children to go against all that the world stands for. We need to raise more leaders that stand for the right things. Thank You for taking the time to put together such a Wonderful program. I pray that all continue to benefit from your experience. God Bless.

I’m with Paul, Kerry. Just read the first chapter and look forward to being able to get the rest. It was a real encouragement to see that the two comments posted here were from men. I’m working toward becoming more involved in the homeschooling. Especially liked your emphasis on schooling wherever you are. We work at that also, but need some help on more creative ways to make it more enjoyable for all concerned. Looks like you have some good ideas for us.
Thanks to both you and Steve. And of course, the kids, the real reason behind a lot of it in the first part.

I’m sorry that your post didn’t go through. About 5 months ago I started approving comments due to the amount of spam comments I was receiving (about 100/day). Now I only have 10-15/day. I’ve been trying hard to approve comments asap, but sometimes there’s a glitch.

I am looking forward to learning more about raising my children to become Biblical leaders. We need Christian leaders in our world today.
My daughter was in a Christian school, but I was disappointed with the conveyor belt Education. We have had a wonderful experience homeschooling this year. There was more time for Biblical Education, Family Time, Service in the church, etc.

Dear Kerry,
You have no idea how much you have helped already. After using your curriculum site, following your blog, and listening to you I think I have the vision.
I have three adopted children from Brazil. I could only see the learning disabilities not the “Leader.” Many times I was mostly hoping not to be mortified! I kept trying to mold them to fit in. You have helped me to trust God to continue his good work in their lives. I will focus on their faith and character and less on their productivity. They really are amazing!
After your call the other night, my first implementation is to REST. After 8 years as a single mom, I am exhausted and not showing much leadership myself. Your pictures spurred me to book a trip to Colorado, our first vacation since they came. We will experience God’s beauty, ride a horse, raft a river, and learn Cowboy Poetry??? Thank you.
Blessings on you and your family,
Lora

The price does seem reasonable considering what the 3 paperbacks would cost :). The freebies are very appealing too.

Hi Kerry,
I left a comment on a different post and then saw most people commented on this one so I wanted to be sure I did it right. Thanks again for this opportunity. We really need a way to get our kids and ourselves thinking differently.

I’ve been on your list for several months, and I’ve been so blessed by your website and blog! Because of your recommendations, I am going to be reading “A Thomas Jefferson Education,” and my children will be starting IEW this fall.
I’m really looking forward to your Leadership Package coming out next week. Thank you so much for providing this vital information for homeschooling families.
Blessings to you and your family!

Wow! Great Price–less then you stated at first! I am sold! Just on the fact that this is a package with a biblical perspective!
I loved the first chapter!
We are implementing the 4 keys right away!
Character
Love of Learning
Independent Studies
Mentoring
Of course I know that these will be done over a span of time, but I have a great place to start with my young children: Character building and Love of Learning–this will be our focus this year!
I love that in the first chapter you said you started the day with read alouds! What an amazing idea! I get sleepy-eyed after lunch (everyone does) and we are so exhausted in the evenings that I feel too spread thin to do great classics during this time.
We are moving to 2 read aloud times during the day: long morning read alouds and short evening read alouds! The most important part of the day and what a great way to teach character and love of learning then through great literature!
Thank you for the ideas–they are revolutionary!
When I taught school, we just never had time to read great books–too many other things to do and focus on–I do NOT want my children to have a conveyor belt education!
I am looking forward to this school year, we now have a VISION! Thank you for that Kerry!
I can’t wait to purchase the upcoming package!
Thank you for being willing to share your wonderful ideas and at such a reasonable cost!.

Thank you for the webinar Tuesday evening. I especially like the idea of reading aloud the first thing in the morning, including literature, history, and, of course, devotions. I plan to start doing that right away. I am eager to learn more.

I read the ” leaked Chapter” from your book. Wow, there was a lot of practical advice in the very first chapter. It looks like you are giving us the nuts & bolts of how to provide a leadership education.
Theory is great, but I need a how to guide. Thanks for providing such a guide.

Kerry,
Thank you so much for recording the webinar! I wanted to be on live but as I was attending a class (for my own education)and I missed it. The package sounds great and I am waiting for Tuesday with much anticipation. I need all the help I can get changing my conveyor belt mindset (along with those of well-meaning grandparents
