Leave the title of the book. If you want to tell why, that is great, but not necessary! Be sure your email is included on your comment. Deadline: midnight, Feb 14. I’ll post the winner on Feb 15th.

Please pass this along to your family & friends!

I would love to read the third book in the Love Comes Softly Series. As a family we have watched these movies and I have just now discovered the books and can’t wait to get this one.

The girls and I just read The Secret Garden again. I think that time period would be so interesting to experience. It is also such a statement on love in our lives.

We just had a Valentine’s party with our girl’s Sunday School class with the theme: Sharing God’s Love with Others. One thing we did was make special cards to send to Christians imprisoned for their faith. Voice of the Martyrs has a website where you choose what you want to write and the site prints out your message in English and the prisoner’s native language.
I pick Voice of the Martyr’s Magazine (any story) as a setting where we can demonstrate love to fellow believers by praying for them and encouraging them in other ways (like letters).
“Inasmuch as you have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, you have done it unto me.”

I choose the book The Harvester by Jean Stratton Porter. This book shows how a woman’s heart responds when a man chooses to love her with sensitivity and a careful awareness of her unique needs.

I would use several things to show that “true love” is not selfish but is shown by serving others. We will use the Bible with verses concentrating on love and play a game with those in order to learn them. Then for my little ones we would read “The Kissing Hand” to show that our love for one another is always with us. We would follow up with more from the Little House on the Prairie series (we’re in The Long Winter right now) because they are always doing selfless acts of love for one another.

I would choose Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers. Very small, close knit and caring frontier community. Each laying his life down for the others. Real love, as expressed to us by the Father, who woos us daily (if we would just listen!)

I would have to say The Boxcar Children because I have wanted to live in that setting since I was a little girl. I’m sure they would have found some creative way to show their love to each other the same way they creatively made a home in the woods out of an old boxcar. My husband, children and I would love the adventure!

Christie’s Old Organ. I cried when I read this to our children. It depicts love through and through.

I chose The Little House books. I’ve always enjoyed the close nit family and how they made holidays so special for each other with soo little. I had such fun thinking about this I decided to ask my children. My dd12 had a hard time choosing but finally settled on The Secret Garden. My ds16 decided on 2 books from the Narnia series and The Hobbit. My daughter then decided Narnia when the children first enter the wardrob. Thanks for the spark to an enchanting dinner conversation for my family!!

Swiss Family Robinson(i have a house of boys). A treehouse, tropical island, the ones you love and adventure. How fun!

Perhaps “Prince Caspian” by C.S. Lewis would be my pick of fantasy getaways. Adventure on the high seas seems rather romantic, and many of the Narnia settings can take you away into a daydream.

I would choose Prince Edward Island in Anne of Green Gables. It sounds so green and beautiful and wild. I would enjoy walking along the roads, the paths and in the woods and meadows.

This is really hard. I read through the other posts and thought “yeah, that one” on each one! My children would probably pick the Narnia series or Lord of the Rings. I would have to say the Anne of Green Gables series as she is such a romatic at heart and I love how it is written.
